What's Happening at Pretty Your World and why wear a boring coat color?
October 26, 2012

Welcome to the 18th issue of
The ColorRevival Review!

What's in this issue?
1. What's been happening at PYW
2. Non-Traditional Coat Colors

What’s New at PYW

I know you haven’t heard much from me lately. I’ve been doing a lot of ‘behind the scenes’ stuff trying to make PYW bigger and better. Here are some new things I’ve been working on:

People always tell me they love my wardrobe ensembles so I’ve been doing a whole lot more. I’ve recently opened a Pinterest page just for my business and will continue to add collections there on a regular basis.
I also want to add more examples on my website so I have created a section specifically for them called “Clothes and Fashion”. So far I’ve added more collections to the Autumn Wardrobe section and will be regularly adding more. Truth is I am totally addicted to putting these looks together. I try to do at least one a night right before I go to bed. It’s relaxing for me.

I’ve had 2 fabulous women offer to let me use them as shining examples of some of the ‘new’ seasons in the 4x4 season system on my blog. I love when people let me do this, and I didn’t even have to ask. Thanks you two!

New "Resources for Image Consultants" section

I’ve recently added a new “Resources” tab specifically for Image Consultants. From where to find training and supplies to building a website, I list all the things that I have personally used to make Pretty Your World successful.

Here are some highights:

Image Consultant training byFerial Find the next USA based training in 2013.

Special: tell her you were referred by me and get a special financing deal!

For those who cannot make a trip to Florida, check out her new Online Certification program.

Can you gather 4 additional people who want training? Ferial will fly to YOU to do your training.

Votre Vu skincare: if you are looking for a fresh exciting new skin care line to offer your clients, check out Votre Vu.

Need a website, not just a blog, but a income producing website? I owe all my eCommerce success to SBI. Watch their video to see how you can do it as well. Reach a global audience and do it very affordabely.

I will be adding more resources to help image consultants in the coming months. Much more to come!

I have to share a recent client testimonial...

Just a few days ago I got a great new testimony from a woman in the UK:

"Hi Lora

I have previously been typed with the sciart system as a dark autumn, whilst I was excited to have a typing something inside of me knew that this was not a correct typing. Until you introduced the 16 type system I was very frustrated and could not figure out what was wrong. I was definitely displaying characteristics of being soft but I was darker than the typical soft autumn but the dark autumn colours on me were just too much. Then Ms Lora introduced us to the soft deep autumn....there I was! Finally. Thank you so much Lora, I appreciate all that you do, I've found my home.

Best wishes,

I love seeing great feedback like this in my inbox first thing in the morning!

What happened to....

The new 4x4 Swatches?

Please note that the 16 season swatches ARE coming soon. I was offering the ‘new seasons’ such as the Toned Spring and Winter awhile back. But it has been decided to upgrade them so the new and improved swatches should be available near the end of November. Just in time for Christmas!

The pre-made seasonal makeup kits?

I was offering pre-made kits with colors chosen by me with a 20% discount. I designed them specifically to be kits that I as a makeup artist would want to create for certain looks in each season. As with everything, I’m learning as I go and I realized that what I would want in a kit may not be what clients want or expect for themselves.
For example, I made sure the Spring kit colors were in the shimmery formula as opposed to matte. But then clients over 35 did not particularly like shimmer in their eyeshadow. Not wanting to create an ‘under 35’ and ‘over 35’ Spring kit, and because of other issues, I decided to just keep the ‘create your own’ kits which are very popular with everyone.

NEW!Speaking of makeup, with every order you can now order up to 10 lipstick samples to try. For $1.00 each, you can try any shade I offer.

Non-traditional Coat Colors for your Season

Colors for Winter coats have always been pretty conservative. Some are downright boring. You can always jazz up a boring coat with fun accessories. Rememember that winter accessories like hats and scarves should always be in your best most flattering colors since they are closest to your face.

But you can always buck tradition and wear a winter coat in your best color. Here are just a few ideas for each of the main seasons.

Until next time, take care,
