The Beauty Hall of Fame:
Color Analysis edition
Pretty Your World's very first inductee is:
Pretty Your World's new Beauty Hall of Fame inducts famous people who deserve an award for demonstrating that they know their best colors by consistently
making the right choices in clothes, hair and makeup.
I see lots of celebrities who change with the seasons, chasing trend after trend, 'reinventing' themselves every time the wind blows. While I applaud reinvention for the sake of improvement and growth, I don't applaud it just for the sake of change. On the contrary. Knowing who you are and developing a personal style that truly reflects you and the best you can be is what PYW is all about.
After searching virtually thousands of photos of examples of celebrities wearing their right and wrong colors, if there's anyone that I'm hard pressed to find in a "bad" color, its Susan Lucci. She is my very first inductee into my newly formed Beauty Hall of Fame. Congratulations Susan!
(Have I mentioned before that I'm a *HUGE* "All My Children" fan?)
Having watched "All My Children" for decades, I have seen Susan Lucci go through the years of disco, the 80's, grunge, you name it, with a sense of style that is truly hers. While she has made some less-than-perfect choices (appearing almost daily on the show for 30 years we have to allow her some room for errors) her consistently wise choices in clothes, hair and makeup have far outweighed any bad she has made.
Susan is a Deep Winter. She knows she looks great in primarily cool vivid colors. See her look fabulous in dresses of black, silver and turquoise, above.
Susan is a perfect example of how softening your look as you age is smart. When she was younger, she had black hair but as she aged, she did not try to keep that rich black hair color. To do so would look artificial, even though at one time in her life it was her natural color. She instead lightens it to a more natural looking brown and softens her makeup as well. If they didn't know already, I can't imagine anyone ever guessing her age to be 62. Yes, she is! She looks fabulous!
