The Smokey Soft Summer
Here are the basics of the Smokey Soft Summer
Value: Medium to Medium Deep
Sister Season: Smokey Soft Winter
Best colors: Charcoal (most shades of grey) navy, cadet blue, raspberry wine, antique violet, bordeaux, steel blue.
Worst Colors: Anything too bright, especially warm colors.
The Smokey Soft Summer needs to wear rich, cool colors that are muted. Little to no warmth is found in your coloring. In fact, if you wear too much warmth, it can make you look sallow and even sick.
Monochromatic colors will look great on you. There will be a range of lighter to deeper soft colors you can wear, but keep most of the colors on the deeper side. Wearing colors that are too pale will not be strong enough for your coloring and will wash you out.
From the many shades of grey and charcoal to navy and cool taupe, rich neutrals will look great on you. This season gets mistaken for a Winter sometimes since the value can appear quite deep. But while charcoal will look terrific, black will appear too heavy.
