Here are the basics of the Dusty Soft Autumn
Temperature: Warm, predominantly
Value: Medium-Light to Medium
Chroma: Muted
Sister Season: Sunlit Soft Summer
Best Colors: Peach, Tan, walnut brown, light moss, oatmeal, cool sage, rich grey-green, lemon chiffon, and ivory.
Worst Colors: Bright or dark cool colors like cobalt blue, hot magenta, black, burgundy.
This season may often be mistaken for a Summer since there is usually some coolness in their hair and skin, but most often in their eyes. Many have blue eyes, but all cool colors will not enhance the warmth that is dominant in the coloring.
Another reason this season gets misdiagnosed is that most of the rich earthy warm colors of the Warm Autumn are too warm for the lightened and softened coloring of the Dusty Soft Autumn. Their coloring can be very neutral.
Monochromatic colors will look great on you. There will be a range of lighter to deeper soft colors you can wear, but keep most of the colors on the lighter side. Wearing colors that are too bright or too dark and heavy, particularly cool colors, will overwhelm you.
Warm neutrals will look great on you.
FYI: Sometimes this season is categorized as a 'Soft Autumn Light' along with its 'twin', the Sunlit Soft Autumn.
